The war in Ukraine continues because Putin is a paranoid narcissistic ass-hat who illegally invaded a sovereign state under false pretenses. In truth, he and his criminal gang of oligarchic jackals just want to get the band back together and relive the Soviet Empire. The sooner he dies, the sooner the world will be a safer place to live.
Here's to Putin dying soon. Na Zdorovie!

Hi,
As it is right now, the "economic conditions for peace" is a set of meaningless words and something that too many are not wanting. When you consider how much money from the oil countries is going to the war efforts in many places in the Middle East, and then you look at the somewhat similar "interest" that that big country has, to jump on a smaller place ... after a while it is very difficult to wonder, who wants peace? Specially when some are making millions off oil, or other ways, and funding war efforts elsewhere, that should/could have been stopped a long time ago, but somehow, it is made to look like this side of this religion is not better or worse that the other side of the religion ... they are all venomous in their own way.
It is like this in a lot of Central and South America as well, where the attitude, sometimes, reached into the laws of the jungle and nowadays, who has the guns and the bombs wins, or maybe I should say the poppies and other plants!
It's become too much of an "interest" that is important to the whole "country", itself just a bunch of folks fighting each other, and you can look at Africa, and the mess it was and has become even more, for its number of subdivisions.
I tend to look at it cynically ... we have added too many people to the earth, and maybe the best solution is to drop down the numbers! But you really think this will improve in the Middle East when it is all simply a feudal set of wars and skirmishes that have been happening for hundreds, if not thousands, of years ...
I think that the day I leave it all behind, it will be the first time I see "peace" and what it means ... good riddance of everything else! There's some cynicism for you!

No cynicism.
This is an appeal written by some economists who want to introduce the topic of world economic relations in the current capitalist era to explain the economic dynamics that are part of this war.
Never forget that it is money that moves the world.

I honestly didn''t get this. Is Putin a paranoid and false in assuming that the NATO was threatening Russia's existence; or else did he gird up his loins and waged this war so as to fulfill his imperial dreams? I'm not pro-Putin, by the bye. This just didn't make sense to me.

I thought it was that Putin's Russia has one of the most expensive armies ever assembled so what's the point of having this if you're not going to use it in some way. Fighting for territory is not exactly new is it? You can dress it up all you like but its still comes down to the same thing. Russia's influence on world politics had diminished to a point where Putin was going to do something to change that. He assumed taking territory from the Ukraine would be easy. It obviously wasn't instead being a massive miscalculation. Anyway climate change will either burn us or drown us eventually so what does it matter anyway. Just more sh*t on top of sh*t on top of more sh*t.

All of you need to get a grip. Seriously. There are wars, people fight, there are tragedies. And climate change... well are you contributing to it? Hmm? DO YOU OWN A GAS CAR? Yeah, I thought so.
Do what you think is right. Stop complaining. Live your life.

One can be a paranoid narcissistic ass-hat and have megalomanical visions of grandeur at the same time. Putin is a case in point. How many Putin associates is it now that have mysteriously fallen out of windows? Ten? Twenty? If I were a Putin associate, I'd definitely add guard rails to any window above the first floor.
And no one was ever threatening Russia's existence. In fact, the only reason Russia's economy is tanking and countries like Sweden and Finland want to join NATO is specifically because Putin is trying to force neighboring countries back into a new Soviet Empire. But no one was going to invade that piss-poor country. For what? Adding alcoholics to their dole? This is all about a perceived loss of prestige and a tiny Putin pudenda.

^ Ummmm no... I'm not convinced.
You basically said, "The war in Ukraine continues because Putin is a paranoid narcissistic ass-hat who illegally invaded a sovereign state under false pretenses."
You didn't use a comma before "who" which means it is a defining relative clause.
And now, you limit his paranoid personality and its impact to his associates.
This is like saying, "Mr. Brown is a mean man who treats his pupils unjustly."; and when someone questions that by claiming that s/he was his student and Mr. Brown was very kind to him/her/them, the reply is like, "He was mean to his co-workers, friends and family."
Sorry, I'm not buying that.

That's your prerogative. The war in Ukraine is solely resting on Putin's puny shoulders. He is totally at fault for murdering innocents, bombing apartment buildings, schools and shopping centers. NATO is not to blame, Ukraine is not to blame -- it is all Putin. You can believe what you want, I personally do not care. The facts remain for the world to see.

^ My "example" there looks confusing. My bad. I'd not be someone to defend Putin's actions or praise his personality. Anyway, this is a complex issue for me and I already had stated my opinions upon this subject on another related threads in this forum. I'll pass this time.
