Currently 0°F (-18°C) where I live. Possible rolling blackouts. Will get even colder tomorrow. Climate change is no joke.

A seasonal song to warm the heart, if not the body...

We had our own local version of global warming back on July 19th this year, when temperatures reached a sweltering 39°C (103°F).  Scorchio! Embarrassed

Sounds dangerously cold. We're (kind of, not really) used to temperatures like that where I live, but I didn't even know it could ever get that cold in Kansas City.

The weather is fairly good nowadays here, but we've had a couple of rather cold days a little before.

It was -32ºC (-25.6ºF) when I got up, before windchill. Yesterday the high was -28ºC. Definite cold snap here. Supposed to be some relief this weekend.

Some brutal temperatures and wind gusts noted. I'll still take winter over the scorching temperatures of summer.

Weather here swings wildly. On Saturday it's supposed to go above 0 (3ºC). All thanks to https://cwf.ca/research/publications/five-facts-about-chinooks-natures-gift-to-calgary/" rel="nofollow - chinooks

Too happy? Perhaps, but I am Canadian and I love winter (maybe not the driving so much Big smile), and I think my avatar speaks for itself !

To quote Game of Thrones "Winter is Coming".  Radar is showing some nasty stuff heading our way just in time for Christmas.  I don't know if Rudolph will be able to guide Santa's sleigh in a bomb cyclone.

Recently we went from -7*c to +14*c in about 24 hours.. absolutely nuts.. its fairly mild and damp presently but thats due to change in the next few days.. I know -7 sounds positively tropical to Canada and some of the US but for the SW peninsula of the England its pretty cold

Currently 9° Fahrenheit in Metro Detroit. We're getting wind gusts of 55 MPH. Ain't sh*t for snow as of yet, though -- maybe a couple inches tops. I think the western side of the state along Lake Michigan is getting the worst of this blizzard bomb thingy, but the damnable wind howling kept waking me up all night.

Heat wave huh? Currently in Kansas City it's -2°F, high today predicted at 5°. We had those nasty winds Wednesday night. So cold that the dog won't go for her walk. Her paws get frostbite almost instantly.

I recall about six months ago you people were complaining about the heat. And I was saying how it was cooler here than normal. Now, here where I live, it has been rather cool this month apart from a few hot days. It is warm at the moment, though.

As a daytime maximum, that would be a very cold winter day here in SE Queensland. As a nighttime minimum, it would be a little above average winter night here.

In Central Pennsylvania, we had six inches of snow yesterday. Temperatures peaked at 42F (about 6C) over night with about an inch of rain. At 9 am it was 38F (about 3C). Right now at 6 pm, it's an even 0F (about -18C). It dropped 15 degrees Fahrenheit between 9 am and 10 am. The roads froze over faster than I can remember. Wind gusts are around 40-50 mph (about 64-80 kmh). Tomorrow's forecasted high is 11F (about -12C), but next weekend we're forecasted to have temps in the 50s F (teens C).

These sudden ups and downs are difficult to get used to.

Friday evening, 7:19 pm EST, we just lost power for the first time. Luckily it was only out for a few minutes, but I suspect we're in for more.
Hurricane lamps are strategically placed and everyone has a flashlight at their side.

Currently holding steady at 3° F at 9:00 pm in Metro Detroit, but with the 20+ mph winds the wind chill is around -18° F. Should drop below zero in a couple hours.

Needless to say, I haven't stepped foot out of the house all day...and I may not tomorrow either. Got the guitars out, the wood stoked in the fireplace and enough beer to stupefy an enraged wild yak. And a few irritable marmots, should they accompany the yak.

Woke up this morning to learn they've closed Highway 6 from Guelph to Wiarton, about a 170 km stretch of road. Looking outside, through snow packed screens, it's still raging.

It's 9°F (-13°C) at 9 am here in Richmond, Virginia. Coldest morning that I can recall since moving here 6 years ago. As reference, same latitude as Athens, Greece, elevation about 170 feet (52 meters).

Yesterday and today we've been hit with some really high winds but thankfully we've missed the snow so far, so other than being without power for 2 hours yesterday it's just an inconvenience more than anything, but they kept saying this is a once in a decade storm. Not so far! It was -10C over night but with the wind feeling much colder. I'm about 80 miles north of Toronto.

Ran up to the LCBO around 2:30 to grab a wee bottle before they closed. Town looked deserted and the snow is leaving its marl.

Hilariously, it hit 50° F today in Michigan, and in less than a week it might get up to 60°. This, after less than a week ago being sub-zero. It's like I have to wear shorts and sandals to go with my parka.

^Ye old climate change in action! 63°F today here in KC, but sub-zero temps a few days ago.

Common occurrence to have 40° change in temperature in a couple hours in these neck of the woods.

I took the pictures above just 5 days ago. It started drizzling about an hour ago and by tomorrow morning the rain will have probably washed it all away. Wacko

What climate change ???
