So, this is going to sound very random, and I'm not expecting many (if even any) replies, but I have a question I can't seem to find a good answer to on Google. First, please listen to the first minute or so of this: Ok. So, after the first one or two bars of this song, a part is repeated 16 times, but each time it's one beat longer than the last. So, it starts out in 10/8, then 11/8, 12/8, and so on, all the way till 25/8 (you could count it in different ways, but you get my point if you've listened to the above). So the bar/time signature grows by one beat each repetition. I'm very curious if something like this has ever been done in rock/prog/jazz/whatever music before. If it wasn't clear, this is from a video game, and I'm wondering if something in this vein has ever been done outside of that realm. Again, I know this is a very random question, but it has been on my mind ever since I first heard it in-game last month, and I figured this place is as good as any to ask about time signature related stuff.

I did this in a song of my own recently  (at 1:34)
Cool example, although this is kind of the reverse equivalent of what the OP was talking about (a melody getting progressively shorter with every repetition).
