Many experts with many posts. Who actually has contributed something for you in anyway?

There could be many more in the list, but I only put the 4000 + posts group.

For me MikeEnRegalia has an opinion I always read.
Secondly Ivan is a great and critical analyst. Too bad he is not in the list.

Now it is up to you. We are great in putting music in boxes, how about people.

Questions like these are difficult because it is easy to offend the people that you didn't name.

I like all the above posters and enjoy all their posts, but I have to go with MikeEnRegalia.

Always very considerate and informative,I value his opinion and he has opened me up to a lot of music I think I would have missed otherwise.

And while I picked Mike,I also checked the "amount of posts don't matter, only quality counts",because I think that is true.

how many of these thousands of posts were insightful comment and how many were "just for fun" posts??

lets not get too carried away with number of posts

i'm not naming ANYONE for fear of offending, the good guys know who they are

Would  "I´m not sure"  count as a valuable contribution?

I´ve read posts like that, or like:

"YES rules", "Me too", "Yeah, Fripp".... I could get a hundred posts like those in one day. I would be a "collaborator" in about 20 days.

I think that everyone has a different quality that they bring to the table.  It is fun to read posts from the "regulars" because I feel like I  know them pretty well just from their posts, even though I've never even met them in person.  It is impossible to pick somebody, and I agree that quality is more important than quantity, so I voted for the last option.

People that always have something interesting to say:  Maani, Easy Livin, Snowdog, Ivan, Tony, Mark the Shark, Danbo, Peter, Salmacis, Trouserpress, Mike EnRegalia, ...the list goes on.  I am so very sorry for leaving anyone out.

Vote for Threefates; she's probably got the most pro-ELP postings of any of them.

I go with MikeEnRegalia, he always posts something important to say, and it often has reason and is very well thought out. Very good work Mike!

I don't deserve any votes. I don't contribute anything to this site.

Yeah right Cyggie, I voted for both of you. Although you contribute more to the site than the forum

Well, if I must be serious...

The amount of posts does not matter. Only quality counts.

I voted again for that ^

Mike contributes almost the same amount as me... he's a valuable asset and he is a very well respected poster here.

OK, it was expected that option 13 would be the winner. Although you could consider the following: someone has a quality rate of 5%, meaning he only has posted 5% of his posts actually making someone laugh or opened someones eyes or made a difference in a discussion. This guy has posted 5000 times, which means 250 posts. That is a lot for someone who considers himself just a flabbermouth.
Secondly I think the amount of posts is being considered as a psychological warranty that the information is correct. Two oldies can easiliy claim that Peter Gabriel left Genesis due to the fact that his lovers relationship with Kate Bush was not appreciated by the band, since it affected the music. The confirmation of a third oldie would certainly make it the truth for all and expecially newbies.
(you guys have the power to change history)
Note that posts from newbies get less reads than posts by an oldie.

No one could take offence by getting a compliment and one could only be motivated to express his/ her knowledge and opinion more firmly or actually make very big jokes (that is certainly a welcome contribution as well).
Man with Hat you have got a vote. Now what pills do you recommend?

BTW, I expected some more resistance with this more personal question. It is difficult to put labels on music, but it is even more difficult to put labels on people.

Quality > quantity.

Simplify your posts, y'all! Less = more.

(No, less is NOT a bore!)
