 Bio: Gustavo Montesano (born in Buenos Aires, 14 October 1955) is an Argentinean singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known as the bass player for the band Crucis. In 1965 he started learning piano, guitar and harmony. Next year, he formed an amateur band, Energía Potable, with his brother Marcelo. In 1967, he was admited in Conservatorio Nacional de Buenos Aires. In 1969, he founds the band Consiguiendo Vida, with guitarist Pino Marrone, bassist José Luis Fernández and drummer Guillermo Conte. 1974 is the maiden year for Crucis, with Fernández (bass and vocals), Daniel Oil (keyboardss) and Daniel "Topo" Frenkel (drums). Montesano is still guitarist, and shares composer duties with Fernández. By the end of the year, Oil and Fernández leave the band. Then Montesano changed to bass and called his former bandmate Pino Marrone to play guitar, who in turn called keyboardist Anibal Kerpel. In 1975, Frenkel leaves to be replaced by Gonzalo Farrugia, former drummer of the Uruguayan band Psiglo. They come to release two albums: Crucis (1976) and Los delirios del Mariscal (1977). Upon the separation of the band, Montesano relased his solo debut: Homenaje. There he sings and plays guitar, keyboards and bass, with collaborations of the rest of Crucis and other musicians like Charly García, Pedro Aznar, José Luis Fernández and Alfredo Toth. In 1980, he formed with Alejandro De Michele (ex Pastoral) the band Merlín, releasing a single album with Roberto Villacé in keyboards, Daniel Colombres drums and Gustavo Donés bass. Next year, he founds the band Montesano, a new wave influenced outfit. Later on, he continued his career as performer and producer in Spain, where he released two more solo albums: in 2000 Fantasía Flamenca, and in 2003 Soul and Soil.
