So it seems very likely that the longest reign in British history is about to come to an end. The royal family are gathering at Balmoral, the Palace has issued a statement saying she is under medical supervision, and Huw Edwards at the BBC is wearing a black suit and tie😑
As if we haven’t been through enough turmoil here in the UK recently, it seems we’re now heading for a state funeral and a Charlie on the throne….
She’s been amazing though, no doubt about that 👑

Im holding my breath, as a person whom also lives in a country with a monarchy,I can emote very close to how it is to be attatcheched to a long cerving monarch.

I’ve had the live coverage in the background for awhile now. It seems fairly certain to me that she has already passed, and we are just waiting for the official announcement. Every “talking head” is wearing black. Black suits, black tie, black dress, etc. she had a good run, and it’s a shame she didn’t make it to 100. Liz Truss must be pretty chuffed by the timing.

Where is the wicked David Icke now?
My condolences to the English, if she indeed passed away. She seems/seemed like a very good person.

This is very sad but not unexpected news. Her Majesty has been the one constant thing during the numerous changes both cultural and technological that have taken place over the last 70+ years.
Regardless of feelings about the monarchy i am sure people all over the world will recognise the importance of her passing and the place in the fundamental infrastructure of the UK. RIP Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

RIP Queen Elizabeth 2
So....the Monarchy costs the Brit taxpayers around 120 million dollars (US) last year and Royal tourism brought in about the same amount....both figures are estimates....is it time for the Brits to dissolve the Royals free lunch?
This is 2022...is it still appropriate for Kings and Queens?

This is the right question but probably not the right timing. I get the feeling Charles will cut things way back.

A classy woman, very elegant and sober. She has certainly been a point of reference not only for the monarchy but for all the British. Knowing that there is an ever-present serious woman you can rely on gives you a sense of security.
Then I wish the British to ask for the passage to republic soon.

The monarchy has essentially lost power for over 200 years and been in decline for more like 500 to 1000. They ceased to 'Reign over us' a long time ago.

I'm well aware of how the British government works, and the ceremonial role of the monarchy, having lived in the UK for 5 years. The Queen may have had faults, but she handled her public role with dignity, particularly during the The Blitz. So, God rest her. May she now reign in Heaven.

In a world dominated with uncouth cads like Donald Trump, I've developed an appreciation of the Queen and even the moribund Charles. Should the charade end? Yes, most definitely, now that the Queen has passed.

I couldn’t agree with you more. There are a couple of people who really should not be on this site, let alone supposedly representing the site as collaborators.
Anyhow, I heard the news whilst working away last night. This is truly sad news and represents the end of an age in our history.

Not true. Every nation state uses the legal system of Maritime Admiralty Law which is ancient Roman Law administered by the crown of England. They've only made it look like they have lost power. They actually control the entire planet through their statutory legal system. Study contract law and if you dig deep enough you'll find out how the three jurisdictions of law have been cleverly manipulated to favor the law of the sea.
Speaking as a practising lawyer for the last 27 years: this is utter nonsense.
I've read similar horsesh*t from a number of so-called "sovereign citizen" sources. You can take it from me, the "research" you've done on the Internet on this subject is worthless.

Since she recently died, I would assume this to be a tribute thread. Negative remarks can always wait until those who care for her have had time to deal with the loss. My knowledge about the Queen is limited, but my condolences to all the people who hold her in their heart.

I am pretty sure that it's not the 'fashion" comment that is so classless and offensive but the "beheading" one. For a Belgian Republican not to know that his country exists thanks to the British monarchy as per the Treaty of London (no ,not Ontario) , just like that other classy Belgian Guy Verhofstadt ...... Embarrassing but typical.

TBH, I'd like to consider how the world would be if Napoleon had won Waterloo. Probably Belgium would not exist today and the place would be a French province, and we might be all the better for it. Because the Belgian state still pays dues to the Wellington estate yearly a small fortune (they stopped paying Blücher's estate after WW1). That alone is a bloody scandal. You can read more in the CZ's abuse section.
As for Verhofstadt, he was the only one denoucing Nigel and his FBarrage of lies in the EC parliament...
But the English wouldn't listen, and now they're out and regretting it.

The Queen's coffin is doing a mini tour from Balmoral down to London. Very touching to see people lining the streets and sidewalks in tribute. That included about a hundred farm tractors!

I liked her and feel she represented us well. I never envied her one bit despite the many millions. It's not like she could just pop off to somewhere like The Maldives and sip a cocktail in the sun enjoying a bit of peace and quiet. She accepted her role and place in life with good grace and represented our country well. RIP
