Yup. The tournament that was meant to "happen" in 2019. (COVID-19 was quite bossy and interfering then.)

I'll support Turkey, as a Turk. We have many great players, but we have to be better in terms of team spirit. I don't think we are one of the favourites to win the tournament, but surprises do/can happen.

I would presume that Finland cannot "go" that far. Star

We, Turkey, were quite bad in the first match, but we luckily won. Howbeit, we are a chaotic country in many aspects. So I'm not that hopeless for our future in the tournament.

Greece are playing excellently against Croatia as of now. I would guess that they are one of the favourites since Croatia is quite a strong team.

I care much less for the basket than for football and volleyball, but living now in a basketball crazy city (Virtus Bologna won the EuroCup in May against the Turkish Bursaspor and Bologna has another team in the top flight) I'll support Italy, at least spiritually.

What makes footballl more interesting, intriguing, and fun is the fact that it is far from being a "guarantee" to play better than your opponent that day, and, as a result, win the match; as we both know, in football, it can easily be quite the opposite. Being a better scorer that day can compensate for your "bad" playing.

However,

2 equally powerful teams in basketball... Oh boy, it can be excellent fun to watch 'em!

As you know and can guess,

If a basketball team is weak and another is powerful at that match... Well, it is very likely that the game is going to be boring as hell!...

Thus,

In football (soccer), I normally try to watch every game during the tournament, but I pick matches in basketball.

Now about Italy in basketball... I have almost no clue about "your" current players but Italy is decent in basketball at worst, and sometimes they are among the favourites to win the championship title.

Germany, Christian... You betray your roots! You beat France yesterday! France is also a potent team. Perhaps you should turn back to Ze Germans. Big smileWink

I've watched some of the matches.

Greece plays really great, so far.

Germany beat 3 strong and very strong teams. I'm impressed.

Turkey's first 3 rivals are/were not that strong. We'll be playing against Georgia today; our 3rd game. Our group is not that "deadly", however our match after qualifying out of the group will be goddamnawfully difficult, most presumably.

I was wrong. They are in the quarter-finals now. Congrats Finland!

And we, Turkey, are out, unfortunately. We lost the game against France stupidly. We were 2 points ahead, had 2 free throws and afterwards the ball was ours. We missed both the free throws and lost the ball that was ours. France got the rebound of the shot they missed and scored, thereby equalized the game and beat us in the extra time. It was tragic for me...

Now I'm supporting Serbia. I guess Greece are a bigger favourite for being the champions, but let's see!

Christian (Lewian); today Serbia and Italy are gonna play; and Bologna vs. Fiorentina. Such a huge coincidence. Our friendly rivalry is on another level on this day! Big smile

The Spain vs. France final. Dead

I like neither country in sports.

I somehow missed that posting. Very happy about Bologna's win in particular, and very curious what the post-Mihailovic era will bring.

Re earlier posting: I'm not a big fan of the very concept of national states, and I'm for sure not reliable as default "patriot" supporter of Germany in all kinds of competitions.

Re Basket ultimately it's France vs. Spain, and to my big surprise the Germans did better than the Italians, altough they may have struggled against both Italia or Serbia. But ultimately I have to admit that it's not a top interest sport for me, so I wouldn't have cared too much had Italy lost to Serbia.
