5th of august 1992, was a sad day, the day where one of the greatest drummers of all time suddenly and to early, died. One of tthe post humerously saddest deaths i know of, but the chance to hear hes playing exists in an abundance. Hes widely reccorded and its always a treat to hear hes footwork, hes flams, he is one of the best single stroke-roll drummers i have ever heard. Hes ability to accentuate hooks is bar-none unsurpassed. A drummer whom was all groove and rythem, whom never soloed, that was not hes interessed. He is missed.

Here you can post yout favourite song you know, featuring Jeff Porcaro.

I was never a big fan of the singer's voice but Porcaro's Purdy like shuffle is pretty sweet.

this is to me, Jeff perfection. this song is a fairytale on how good of a drummer Jeff was, he was a force of naure, both in Toto but also in session. also one of Bobby Kimballs best vocal works in the band, all the band is very much in this song

my favourite Toto song

What I don't get is why Steve never released instrumental music when so many of his contemporaries did. I guess he said all he had to say in the context of Toto's music.

FWIW, Steve also tore it up on synths as part of Gary Wright's band in the mid-70s, before Toto!
