Okay.  Well, the Nakamura is fine if a little slow.  But it's funky, man, I mean that is 1976.  The other link sounds like a tape of me and my friends jamming in 1989.

Casiopea vs. The Square Live is a phenomenal Japanese fusion album.

I got loads, but I'll start with Akira Ishikawa & Count Buffalos as I just love their groove (and so will you)

Japanese fusion/yacht rock/citypop and the sort form the late 70's/80's is pretty popular with people in their 20's these days I feel. I personally really enjoy it too, though there's a lot of it, so you do risk finding something bland. There's quite a couple of Casiopea and Masayoshi Takanaka that gets boosted by the Youtube algorithm for some reason. Casiopea has quite a good debut album. After that they kind of lost their touch (and drummer, I thnk). I'd personally recommend Himiko Kikuchi. I recently acquired her debut album on CD, but a lot of them are hard to find (goes for a lot of japanese jazz, really).

There doesn't seem to be a lot of this kind of stuff on PA, by the way. A bit too smooth? It does fit in the Jazz Fusion genre technically.

When I think "Japanese jazz-fusion," the first word that comes to mind is KENSO.

This is a live rendition of "Gips" from the live album Ken-Son-Gu-Su. The studio version is found on Esoptron.

The only ones I know of are Kenso, Ain Soph and maybe a little bit of Asturias.
