I read on Facebook that him and Yes singer Jon Davison grew up together and used to play in a band together in high school. -------------

Yes I saw that as well, apparently they were friends from an early age. Great shock, very sad news.

Grohl referred to him as his best friend in his autobiography. That’s two high-profile bandmates dying in one lifetime. Everyone seems to have loved the guy.
