I simply don't get it and never will. Ticket prices at London's O2 in 2 weeks time, start at £180 rising to over £800?? To see a mere shadow of what they were? Why would you want to see Phil in this condition? Why wouldn't you rather pay £20 to see Magenta or Mostly Autumn in a more humble, regional venue?

Personally I'm for sure not going to see them, as musically they haven't interested me much now for a long time. However more than one person I knew died recently not reaching 60, so if Phil Collins does concerts at 71 on a chair with a cane, good for him. |

I've seen several videos of the shows taken by people in the stands. His voice has really changed and some of it has to do with being seated while singing. To belt out some of the vocals you really need to be standing. The two backing vocalists are mostly covering for him when he reaches lyrics that need to be held for awhile. They seem to have lowered the key their playing in to match his voice even more so than they did in 2007. To be honest, some of it is a bit difficult to listen to. Having said that, he justly deserves credit for continuing to be active in his condition. The one positive I can find in his voice is that sometimes it gives off a rather sinister vibe. Where they should be taking advantage of this is in recording a new studio album that would be much darker in tone to what they've done in the past. That type of voice would work well with something like the music of Devil Doll or Sunn O))). But obviously, the band has no intention of releasing new material and I can't imagine them making such a dark-sounding album. ------------- ---------- i'm shopping for a new oil-cured sinus bag that's a happy bag of lettuce this car smells like cartilage nothing beats a good video about fractions |

I wouldn't attend a Magenta or Autumn gig if you paid me 20 (or 800, FTM) and it was next door.  AAMOF, I'd probably call the police to find a way to stop it from happening  Fortunately, he Gen tour doesn't come to Belgium, so I won't have to stop them.  I was about to call Wladi the Putina to invade us to stop them.
