No poll here, just a question. What do you think is the best gatefold style album cover? This is NOT about the music. It's about the packaging. Post pictures if you can. BTW, Triple albums like Yessongs or Welcome Back My Friends... are valid options

The ones I can remember when I used to have vinyl were The Alan Parsons Project's debut, ELO's Out of the Blue, Genesis' The Lamb and Seconds Out, and Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother and Animals. ------------- ---------- i'm shopping for a new oil-cured sinus bag that's a happy bag of lettuce this car smells like cartilage nothing beats a good video about fractions |

Hi, Amon Duul 2 - Dance of the Lemmings ... that inside painting is far out! Amon Duul 2 - Wolf City ... the LP was a fold out cover. The inside was neat too! Not sure I ever bought an album for the cover at all ... but if so, HAWKWIND's original package for Space Ritual is probably the one I wish I had not gotten rid of ... that LP holder (2 of them) was neat. ------------- Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Somebody should make a book that showcases all of those classic vinyl gatefolds. I'd buy one! Although my collection is mostly on CD, there's no denying that the vinyl experience as far as cover art goes is unparalleled. ------------- https://rateyourmusic.com/~siLLy_puPPy |
