my band recording a small little demo on a tape
today, and i was wondering if any of you know how i
can put it on to a computer/cd/minidisc? or what
cables i need to buy in order to do that?

To record it to MiniDisc, why not record the demo directly onto MD?

A better way might be to buy a cheap mixer and plug it into your PC - you can get some great little decks for less than $50, if you don't mind recording one instrument at a time - I'll try to dig out some links. Once you've done that, you can mix to your taste and burn direct to your CD burner.

Alternatively, simply buy a MD recorder or CD recorder and plug your tape player into it and hit record.

Job done!

These are all cheap, simplistic approaches, of course.
