I like both of these album. I picked Genesis, but by a thin margin.

Both uneven with a few great highlights, but I find A Song For All Seasons above average and And Then there Were Three slightly below average.

Yes, you're right. Renaissance wins easily against Genesis every time for me, including in the 1980's. Smile

I only asked if it's an easy poll/choice or not.
I also want to see who's gonna vote "both" and "neither". Smile

I'll go for both, as both were the first to incorporate more commercial songs while still being excellent albums.

ASAF is a very strong album, ATTWT is OKish.

Indeed, well put. This is my take too...

Eh.... ATTWT is one of my least favorite Genesis albums. I do like it, but it's overlong, doesn't have the imagination of the previous two, nor the immediacy and energy of the next two.

But then A Song For All Seasons.... I can put that record on and not remember a melody of what happened afterwards. I do like it, but compared to Scheherazade?

I guess I'll go Genesis, since I like Genesis better overall, and it does have their first pop hit which I do enjoy.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Both are fine albums, indeed.

For me Genesis is an easy choice.

For me, the under appreciated ATTW3 takes it by a wide margin

Renaissance.

That Genesis' album is ugly.

A Song For All Seasons is a lovely album.
ATTWT is distinctly average.

Wow, look at all the dunks on ...ATTWT. Shocked

Let me remind y'all of these utterly fantastic songs. Just because Gabriel and Hackett aren't there doesn't mean it's not a kick-booty record.

neither for me. Both bands were past their best by the time they recorded these lps, in my view. I haven’t heard either since the time of their release and nothing has made me wish to revisit them. Just my opinion though

Easy poll for me. I don't like the Genesis whereas I think this Renaissance is one of their best.

Renaissance. I have really gone off ATTWT over the years, whereas my appreciation for Renaissance as a group have increased.

arguably Renaissance' best album, certainly their boldest up to that point. Easy choice for me.

I did a series of polls like this a few years ago pitting ASFAS against albums by the big 6 or so and it won against almost all of them except Heavy Horses I believe.

Because of the duds on ATTWT, it's Renaissance.
