It can be from any lineup. My favorite is Peter Bardens.

Andy Latimer - a no-brainer for me.

Yep, I figured I'd get a lot of Andy Latimer answers.

Predictably, The Answer is Andy Latimer, closely followed by Peter Bardens, and if I'm wrong then you can Write My Name in the Dust.

...and Dreams
Andy Latimer or Peter Bardens for me, but both work to form this fantastic music.

Prolly Colin Bass since he is the bassist and bass is LITERALLY in his name

You mentioned the same thing on the thread where Rick Astley knew what Camel was. Yes, I do think it is funny that Colin Bass is the bass player of Camel. But looking at the before and after shots for the band on their main page, it looks as if the members are less handsome. One guy is fat, one guy looks old and obscure enough to not have to make another pop record again, on guy has so much hair, and one guy looks like a sports coach. They are not as handsome as they used, they save for Andy are not the same people either. I know it has been mentioned a lot, but Camel is criminally underrated. They need more stream.

Same. I also love Peter's solo albums, like Heart to Heart, Seen One Earth, Water Colors and The Art of Levitation.

Andy Latimer. No Andy equals no Camel it's as simple as that. He's the Robert Fripp of Camel.

Anyone want to vote for Chris Rainbow? I’ll wait.

Hard to vote against Latimer, he cannot be meaningfully compared to any other member, but I have been very impressed with Richard Sinclair and Andy Ward.

Integral is not the same as favourite, though. So while I would agree on the Latimer/Fripp comparison, neither is probably my favourite member of either group.
In terms of Camel, I’d say my top three are probably:
1. Peter Bardens
2= Andy Latimer
2= Andy Ward

Peter Bardens was a guest once on SPACE PIRATE RADIO. he was a true gentleman, sensitive soul & a pure joy to talk to.
Is the show archived?
I have the interview on tape in my SPACE PIRATE RADIO Archives, but have never replayed it since the first airing. Pete did a lovely, heartfelt ID for the show, which I drop in regularly before playing his music... with or without CAMEL. thank you for asking.

Yeah, this whole thing was a pretty hard decision, they're all so talented. There's no one else like them.
