Which classic band is rated higher in your book?

I love The Doors, but I'd pick The Who by a nose.

I Don't Mind saying that My Generation thinks The Who do Circles around The Doors, although, I Can't Explain why my Cousin Kevin Cut My Hair. Honestly, I've Had Enough of his Daily Records. It doesn't make a difference, However Much I Booze, because I still have to ask him "Did You Steal My Money"? And what does he say...You Better You Bet. Well, I Can See For Miles that is just Another Tricky Day for The Real Me to get back to The Dirty Jobs. Do You Think It's Alright that I have to keep telling him Please, Please, Please, really, It's Not True, once The Song Is Over I'll be Going Mobile to Cooks County so you can Cry If You Want but I absolutely Won't Get Fooled Again. Why Did I Fall For That?

A few Who albums were by far better (Who's Next, Quadrophenia), but overall I'd rather listen to The Doors.

Defiantly The Who, I was never a big Doors fan.

Oh that’s you over there!
I’m behind the 3rd pretzel on the left.

The Who are among the very few bands whom have played on many of the greatest and most important festivals in rock, and popular music history, i find that feat alone quite cool. The Doors also are a legendary festival act and recording band, but the Who is the topp festival band G.O.A.T

I like both bands a lot but it's the who by a little bit.

Much as I like The Who, The Doors have been more important to me. I'm a classic Psych and related music guy. The Who can be a little too hard commercial rock/ AORish for my tastes.

IMO, The Who rarely fired on all cylinders--had many great songs, or great passages and/or riffs within songs, but rarely maintained those highs--while The Doors hit their peak with their debut but then somehow remained fairly consistent. I'm not really a fan of either, never have been, but I LOVE songs by each and appreciate what they brought to album/radio music.

P.S. (IMO both far exceed the achievements of the Rolling Stones.)

The Who, as good as they are, sound like a 60s/70s British rock band. The Doors sound like no one else. The Doors for this poll.

For me The Doors were unique, The Who were just another (good) band of the era.

I cannot vote for a band with an identity crisis therefore THE DOORS wins easily

Hi,

The Doors. Far more poetic and enjoyable. A true movie for your own inner screen!
