I first heard John Hassel via Eno in the 80s. I could not figure out what weird instrument he was playing and was astounded that it was actually a trumpet. He got sounds out of that thing that I had never heard before. Since then, I have collected a couple other of his recordings. A tremendous artist and a tremendous loss. Condolences to his family, who sent a heart-warming message, his friends, and fans. Cry
