Assuming that "American" means U.S., I've got to stop myself from nominating three or four Swans albums, but there's other good stuff... Swans - The Seer Bubblemath - Edit Peptide Thinking Plague - Decline and Fall Deerhoof - Mountain Moves Battles - La Di Da Di John Zorn did so much stuff that I haven't heard... I'm sure I missed some jewels.
