Supersister  has some good moments and some annoying moments

Supertramp  has some absolutely amazing moments  ( Fool's Overture for one )
many many good moments
and only a few annoyingly sappy moments

Supertramp all the way

Neither is among my top bands, but I respect their work. At the end, I voted for Supersister.

Supersister...the first 3 are amazing .
Supertramp was always prog lite to me and I'm a big Canterbury fan so Supersister appeals to me.

Never really considered Supertramp to be prog, but I prefer them over Supersister.

I haven't got any problem with Roger's voice and think that it fits perfect Supertramp's sound.
By the way - voted for R&R of course.

Very Tough. I'm glad U included equal liking, because I could make no other choice.

Supersister: one of the best Canterbury groups. To the Highest Bidder one of the best albums ever!
Supertramp: amazing band. Crime of the Century, a classic!

Dig the Sister but they're so derivative - close your eyes and it could be Nat'l Health, Hatfield, the Softs, even Caravan.  Supertramp's initial album is the reason I'd rate them over SS, but I only find Crime and Crisis interesting after that.

SS is a gas - they were only teenagers when they recorded their first album.....and the first three are all excellent.  But that first Supertramp album, man.

Supersister. Their three albums of ”Present from Nancy”, ”To the Highest Bidder” and ”Pudding En Gisteren” are completely unique and forward-thinking, incorporating mainly Canterbury influences but also a lot of other tasty stuff. Highly enjoyable for me. That’s not to say that Supertramp are bad by any means, in fact I own multiple Supertramp albums. But for me they are simply a bit too poppy. Seems I am living up to my nickname lol. Stereotype of myself, I am

Supertramp was always one of those bands that never quite made me take notice. Pleasant but nothing special.
Decent songs but a bit twee at times. Prog lite...more arty pop rock than prog and they are listed here as 'crossover' a category for what...bands that aren't really prog? (Off topic but then several bands in that category don't belong there imho)

I make your words mine. But I would change Crisis? for Brother, as that album is one of the best (few) works the prog rock world had to offer in the 80's. I don't think Supertramp as a whole is underrated but, in my opinion, Brother Where You Bound and the debut album are some of the most underappreciated prog rock albums ever. They are easily 3 1/2 star albums for me while Moments is a 3 and Breakfast 2.

Until I discovered Supersister I found much of the Canterbury Scene to be less than enjoyable. They are the pinnacle of the sub-genre in my book.

Crime of the Century is one of my favorite all-time mainstream albums. The first album is a decent prog album, but kind of seems like a less attractive Genesis sibbling. Other than that the remainder of their discography doesn't resonate with me at all.

So definitely Supersister wins this battle for me.

Nice to see one of my old polls pop back up! Tongue

I actually don't know Supersister very well but did this one because of the word "Super" in both of their names. I really only know the Supersister song "radio" from an old prog boxed set and that's about it.
