Does anyone of you know Mari Boine? If not, check her out. She is a Sámi shaman and musician. The Sámi are an ethnic group in Norway. Here some music of her: And here a full concert of her: We saw her about 15-20 years ago in Leverkusen as opener for a Magma concert. We would have considered her performance to have been a great concert. But apparently Magma felt challenged and just blew her off the stage. I only know her Room of Worship album, which is a good listen every once in a while; an intriguing modern take on traditional northern (Scandinavian) music. But I never explored her music further than that... ------------- The razamataz is a pain in the bum |
