Exactly what it sounds like. I'll start; this album, to this day, has THE cleanest production and mixing job I've ever heard. Yes it's mostly due to processing and lack of live instruments, but still, this sh*t sounds like it came out today, NOT 30 years ago in 1991! | I have to give kudos to the production on the new Lifesigns release "Altitude" all the instruments are crystal clear and it still has a warmth to it, but I agree musical quality is more important - take "Nursery Cryme" for example. |

Production is not really a consideration for me, unless it's so bad you can't hear the component parts of the music. First and foremost: Revolver and Sgt. Pepper. Because of the cutting edge recording techniques and tasteful use of classical and jazz instruments that perfectly fit the songs. Other favourites in terms of production: Pet Sounds Dark Side of the Moon OK Computer A Night at the Opera Almost everything involving Brian Eno Sebastian - Cirkus Fantastica Sort Sol - Flow My Firetear Iggy Pop - The Idiot - especially "China Girl"!
