I love the albums of Neil Young, but Everybody Knows This is Nowhere to post full YouTube albums, so I'm conducting a Top 7 albums poll instead. After the Gold Rush of best-selling albums in the 1970's, when Neil Young had a veritable Harvest of great songs, Time Fades Away into the lean years of the 1980's, when several disappointing albums were left stranded On the Beach, so to speak. Tonight's the Night to determine the Top 7 Neil Young albums amongst the good members of ProgArchives. You can of course include his albums with Crazy Horse in your listings, such as Zuma for instance, or even Neil Young's Long May You Run album in collaboration with Stephen Stills. Maybe you prefer the countrified sound of American Stars 'n' Bars, or perhaps there Comes a Time when you prefer the harder-edged sound of Rust Never Sleeps with Crazy Horse. Either way, it comes down to a Hawks & Doves choice between Neil Young's hard-rockin' albums with Crazy Horse, or his gentler country-tinged solo albums of Love. I'd be surprised if Re ac tor or Trans features in anyone's Top 7 albums list, but you never know. Anyway, in a world gone mad outside, it's good to know Everybody's Rockin' the night away indoors here at ProgArchives. Smile Heart

Maintaining tradition with the Old Ways, I'll assign the usual system of points to your Top 7 album listings:-

1st album - 12 points
2nd album - 8 points
3rd album - 6 points
4th album - 4 points
5th album - 3 points
6th album - 2 points
7th album - 1 point

Here's my Neil Young Top 7 to get the poll underway:-

1. Everybody Knows This is Nowhere (12 points)
2. Harvest Moon (8 points)
3. Harvest (6 points)
4. Are You Passionate? (4 points)
5. After the Gold Rush (3 points)
6. Comes a Time (2 points)
7. Zuma (1 point)

1- Harvest
2- After the Gold Rush
3- Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
4- On the Beach

Those are my top 4. After that is hard, I like the others but I don't "love" them.

But I'd go:

5- Rust Never Sleeps
6- Tonight's the Night
7- Harvest Moon

The "Everyone Knows" album features a Harvest of some of Neil Young's best-known songs, including "Cinnamon Girl", "Down by the River" & "Cowgirl in the Sand", so if you're unfamiliar with the album, it's well-worth a listen.  Thumbs Up

I might go Down the River After the Gold Rush to have a listen, if there Comes the Time.
