People pretty much agree on what the all-time great albums are.. Abbey Road, The Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zeppelin IV, etc, etc.

So of all the albums that are not all-time great, which is the best?

And to cut it down even more, I'm limiting this to ONLY albums that were released before this thread began.

Good luck to you all.

Not sure are you meaning albums that I think great but are not commonly thought great, but one of my all time albums that really are quite forgotten these days is "John Parish & Polly Jean Harvey: Dance Hall at Louse Point".

Hmmm maybe not just me then. Seems every time I go to "View First Unread Post" in any thread I've been to it takes me back to old, already-read posts. Really annoying when it's pages back. Is this the same problem you've been having Mortte?

Do I need to clear out the cookies or something?

EDIT #2: Nevermind my problem is entirely different LOL

Ok John Parish & Polly Jean Harvey: Dance Hall at Louse Point, officially the best non all-time great album. Works for me. We have a winner!

I seriously think if recorded better, the Lou Reed Metallica album "Lulu" would be better regarded.

I like "Lulu", but itīs not even near the greatness of "Dance Hall at the Louse Point" IMO. Although "Lulu" got lot of bad reviews when it came (also I didnīt like it at all at first), it has "fans" right after itīs release and also is all the way much more known than "Dance Hall". It was album record company not promoted at all, many fans (including me) didnīt even know it has come.

Since you opened with Led Zep, I'd say "Presence" would get my vote.  A very under-appreciate LP that was.
