How many of you have noticed this: a bunch of 80s synth pop songs have this weird, usually instrumental part in the middle that can only be described at "spooky." Take On Me, for instance, that middle section. A LOT of 80s hits have that. Synchronicity II has one as well. Often a key change involved. This was pointed out to me by someone who grew up then (I'm 22). Can anyone else identify some 80s tracks that have that spooky section?

Like 80s' crappy B-movies where we see a naked woman and that scene generally has nothing to do with the plot. Nevertheless, I love the 80s. |

It can stem from a combined influce or effect of Thriller and Ghostbusters. But can also be many got atraxted to similar experiments with synthesizers. Ultravox 'Vienna' might have had an impact on it also. -------------
