again.. cheers for Lorenzo for a sparkling great idea. So let's hit it again hard and fast with passion and anger.. umm hmm..
the basic rules.. the only rules.. None of the PA's crap allowed here. Pick what you want otherwise.
Vote on the 3 you like the most...
finally settled on this one .. was going to go with the 5 star singer writer classic that rules both lyrically and musically but I'll save that for another. The artist is extremely well known..even if surprisingly.. even amoung fans I"ve met over the years they didn't know the song. But I just did a 'unknown' song by a well known artist..
so was going to go with Shara Worden.. but again.. not famous by any stretch. but among the musically literate is probably known..
so going to old favorite and out of the American South.. to the musical goldmine that is Brazil.
Tania Maria.. first heard the title track from this album on an NPR station many hears and several life times ago and nearly drove off the f**king road. LOVED IT and immediately order the album... been a part of my album collection ever since.

Mine has been ready for quite a few days - a song I have always loved, though I didn't listen to it for many years. Now that I'm rediscovering a lot of great music that does not fall under the prog umbrella, this is the perfect opportunity to give songs such as this one more exposure. Maybe it's not very obscure, but here it is.

Glad you didn't do the
singer/songwriter thing, because I'd been so tempted to post yet another
suicide one. OK then, here is something that I find just hypnotic and
beautiful. Seckou Kita is a master of the kora, he has so many wonderful
collaborative videos with other fabulous artists, in so many styles.
Edited, accidentally posted the wrong one first, although that is also
wonderful.

Keldian - The Last Frontier
I decided on mine a couple of hours ago.
Keldian is a Norwegian metal band, roughly a melodic power metal band but their sound -just like their vocals- is smooth and quality is higher than most of the other power metal bands. They are basically a duo, but include guest musicians in their albums. I have more than some favourite songs of theirs, but wanna share this particular one. Oh and, they've never released a weak album yet (at least for me).
I figure those who like AOR or generally melodic music might also like this band. Actually, they might like them more than most power metal fans, as they are a standout band.
I hope you enjoy it.
P.S. I had to put the remastered version of the song, as PA didn't show the one I intended to put. They're not too different, but I slightly like the original recording more. Here's its link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc1S5yWC2xg" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc1S5yWC2xg

Can you edit the original post and the poll options, after it is voted? If so, no problem here.

ahhh.. man.. looks like I'll finally win a poll.
see Shadowyzard.. this is how you win a PA's poll .. and do so with style.
I don't know how I messed this up so rather I'll wait till we got 15 and move them over to a new poll.. with due credit via quotes.. and start a new one

My hand didn't move my mickey mouse towards the poll option. I cannot vote, you're great guy. Humorousness with integrity, that's how I like my fellow forumers.
Just as I like the hilariousness of Hillary Clean Tone. I cannot tolerate harsh vocals. But unlike Monica Lewinsky, I don't like saxophone very much. She should've tried another instrument to blow.

So my entry is a bit of a gamble. I love the lyrics to this song, but they are in Danish. I have provided a translation below.
Tv-2: Monas solarium (1988)
And so one could probably go on Talking about how lovely it could be In the warmth from the life You are burning out too impetuously
While you're lying in the sun In your own universe Just thinking: oh, whatever And the whole world is turning And dancing around you In your own private solar system
So high ceilings and so much space In the silent living rooms of your heart Where few are let in And no one finds the way out again
While you're lying in the sun In your own universe Just thinking: oh, whatever And the whole world is turning And dancing around you In your own private solar system
Oh, poor is the one who gets too near you And thinks he must follow you in the escape A neck-breaking crash into nothing You are gone
But you are somewhere in the darkness In your own universe Just thinking: oh, whatever Your sun is switched off You're dancing round and round silently Alone in the big empty space
Caught there in the darkness In your own universe You think: oh, whatever

Yes! I remember this one. Also, Don't Box Me in from Rumble Fish that he did with Stewart Copeland. Most people will recognize his voice from Wall of Voodoo.
