This is a cherry bomb, and it be poppin'.
I don't expect much interest.
Air - "Cherry Blossom Girl"
Cardiacs - "Two Bites of Cherry"
Groundhogs - "Cherry Red"
The Move - "Cherry Blossom Clinic" or "Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited"
The Pentangle - "Cherry Tree Carol" (a traditional song)
Tangerine Dream - "In the Cherry Blossom Hills"
Don't feel like you have to listen to all of those -- chances are that that would be torturous to various people. I don't care if you vote and only know one of them or vote based on the title, or really if you choose not to vote at all. Please excuse any obvious omissions, and feel free to mention any other songs with the word "Cherry" in the title. I like Don Cherry, the jazz trumpeter, not the Canadian sports commentator so much, and I like Cherry Five. And A Taste of Cherry was a fine film, Cherry 2000 not so much.
By the way, only one of these acts is outside of PA, the Air, and it's a very poppy one, but actually the video, which is quite adult so I wont share, for this song got me into that band.

TD even if by reputation alone

Not sure what kind of a reputation with most here Tangerine Dream has post 70s. I know a few here who really like the music past that era.
Not that you'd be interested in listening to the music or the background, I expect, but for general topic discussion purposes, "Cherry Blossom Road" can be found on Tangerine Dream's 2005 Kyoto album and 2010's Summer in Nagasaki (the video I embedded is off the latter).
At one time I loved the pre-Phaedra TD albums, then I became accepting of all of the 70s albums, and then I realised I like much more than that. Even though it's very different from the Air, that is the one on the list I would stylistically most relate it to. The Groundhogs and The Move would go best together. The Pentangle is of course folk, and is one of my favourite folk rock bands -- I might have expected you to have heard Basket of Light (this isn't off it and I shouldn't), and is quite different from all the others. And the Cardiacs song is a beast of its own, but can still be compared to Groundhogs and that The Move track. I felt this made a fairly interesting mix.

TD is easily my favorite band of the above (Pentangle is the only other one I've enjoyed but its been more than a couple of years since I've heard anything by them and my tastes have only gotten weirder since then). I kind of like the Atomic Year (or whatever they call it) five albums but I think the only one I actually bought was the Winter one.

I just love being able to vote for AIR over PA
Some really nice tunes featured as well which I probably could have gone for some other day. Today though it’s the Frenchmen.

Thanks David, and Phil. T
The Air is breezy, as air can be, but also has pathos. This is one where I feel that all choices could easily get a serious vote if the topic got noticed by enough of our forum members. While this is probably not a forum that gets trawled through much on a daily basis, and we have so many active topics every day, since the title references the Cardiacs song, and I know we have a number of active Cardiacs fans at the forum, that is not one I expected to see with no votes for long.

Cardiacs deserve a vote!
An alternative pick from me would be Cherry Pie by Upsilon Acrux (served up on the Galapagos Momentum platter).

I think it's Cherry "Pi", which is that much more math rock.
Yeah, I'd haeard that album before, wish I'd thought of that track.

Which has one of the funniest and cheesiest, and some would say sexist, music videos of all time and would deserve to be here if only for the lol.
I actually narrowed this list down a bit -- can;t now remember what else I had on it.
One I wish I'd mentioned is Kyari Pamyu Pamyu's "Cheyrybonbon", she is something of a guilty pleasure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvn23AOdP_M" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvn23AOdP_M My wife found it creepy that I liked her stuff and her videos -- thought I was being a dirty (not that) old man.

You're right of course. My CD is ripped to iTunes and whoever entered the album details on the database they use obviously couldn't be bothered to track down the pi symbol on their computer and decided to put “pie” instead

I've had the same issue. Pi, pie, cherry, chérie... I wonder how many bakers use pi to calculate the area and circumference of a cherry pie? That doesn't need answering. Advanced Apple computers have calculated banana cream pi to 31 trillion banana cream digits. Unfortunately, in trying to calculate a chocolate pi, it caused the system to explode molten lava cake style. Ummm....

The Move....love that lp though that is not my favorite track on it. Honorable mentions to Groundhogs and Pentangle.
