What a great subject for a thread! I like Roberta Flack, Catherine Howe and Karen Carpenter too, and rumour has it that Rumer has a very soothing voice too, very similar to Karen Carpenter in many ways. Smile

Thanks. I'm surprised no one from outside the UK knows/likes Catherine Howe. Great singer.. She had to give up her career for years because she couldn't sell. And it's not like she wasn't attractive, either.

I’m a pretty recent convert to Joni Mitchell. She was a pretty interesting guitarist too, used a lot of odd tunings.

That's the one that started my long distance love affair with her, Paul! 😂
She continues to tour and make remarkable music - more singer-songwriter than prog - but some of the Mike Paxman arrangements of her earlier songs were on the edge of progginess!

^^ I think "Stay with Me Till Dawn" is the stunning song that started all of us off on our long distance love affair with Judie Tzuke. That was the song that inspired me to go out and buy an album of her Greatest Hits many years later, although to be absolutely honest, "Stay with Me Till Dawn" is the only Judie Tzuke song that really stands out in my memory. I'd be hard-pressed to name any other Judie Tzuke songs without going upstairs and looking through the track list of her album.  Smile
