Equal time for the believers. How do you celebrate or view the holidays?

Christmas is okay, you get time off of work and its nice to have something special in the dead of winter, which would be totally depressing otherwise, but I also get tired of what a big deal it is, especially the more commercial aspects.

As far as the Bible goes, there is no mention on which day Jesus was born. The holiday is an obvious adaption of older pagan holidays, which is no big deal, I like pagans, as they tend to know how to have fun.

The materialistic aspects of Christmas are pretty much the exact opposite of any teachings in the New Testament. So basically its just a secular holiday with some ambitious Christian aspects tacked on. Some more informed Christians will tell you that Dec 25 is the day they have chosen to celebrate Christ's birth, and will acknowledge that this isn't actually in the Bible.

Don't try to tell my Mom that Jesus may not have been born on Christmas day, she gets very very upset.

By "holidays" I assume you mean religious based holidays? The 4th of July is a holiday..... LOL

I celebrate what I believe on Christmas Eve and midnight mass. For me what comes before that is spending insane amounts of cash for no reason that I can think of, or has anything to do with Christmas Eve. Might as well run all the "gift giving" commercials year round, why not?
If not for the kids and the smiles I see on their faces during this time of year I could careless for the commercialism and all. It can be pretty disgusting......

I do like Christmas parties though Clap

Merry Christmas Everyone!
