Zappa Street? Why not a park, an oval, kindergarten, railway station, a cemetery, or a suburb...? Some lesser mortals have been honoured by public places wearing their names.

In Europe, his achievements on many levels are recognized with outmost respect and he was even to be appointed Special Cultural Advisor by Vaclav Havel, the then Chechoslovak President, until a Mr. G. Bush(Sr) treatened to cancel all support to the new Republic. In Budapest (Hungary) there is a Zappa Museum!

I named my first home in memory of Zappa, who died at the time of the construction. So there...

A thread on Zappa had five inputs so far - that's including the original post and also my response - in that many days?????? What's the Archives are made up of? Shame, shame, shame! (Or rather a sad reflection about people opting to ignore one of the greatest humanitarians - who happened to be one of the most noteable composers and musicians of the Century?)

He even coached Stevie Vai. Now that's probably going to raise the level of interest... Yes? No? Eh, never mind, after all Vai seems to have learned little while he was on the payroll.

We are addressing an issue - or perhaps not - about one of the very few icons. The lack of interest is a telltale sign of ignorance, or perhaps a sign of the times?

The man deserves much more recognition than this!
