For a change of pace, some weird post-punk, Wire, 1979 I’ve had this on CD and DVD for a long time. They were pretty different at the time. They’re playing many of their most storied early, experimental pieces here, some before their album release. They make you uncomfortable in a good way.

I’m eager to check out the Procol & Wishbone. I think I’ve seen some of Procol already, and was recently thinking of getting more familiar with Wishbone Ash. A good live broadcast is a great way to do that.

Ed Cassidy of Spirit has the most unusual drum set-up I've ever seen, with two huge bass drums mounted either side of him. It makes for a very powerful drum sound!

^^ Thanks for uploading those videos by Jack Bruce, Guru Guru & Van Der Graaf Generator. I like all of those artists, although I'm still in the early stages of VDGG appreciation as I've just bought my first two albums by the band but I haven't got around to listening to them yet. Maybe I'll save them till Christmas. Meanwhile, I'm going to watch Guru Guru play live for the first time.

Thanks for the great uploads! I'm really looking forward to watching all four of those Rockpalast videos by Grobschnitt, Peter Gabriel, Lucifers's Friend & Spock's Beard. In the meantime, I'm going to be watching the Edgar Broughton Band tonight. There's so much great music to look forward to here. I'd never heard of Grobschmitt before - which is why I've probably misspelled their name - but from what I've heard of them so far after giving the Rockpalast video a quick listen, it sounds like my kind of music.

They are called Grobschnitt (Rough Cut), their Album Solar Music (live) might be the single most
best known German Prog Album (alongside Amon Düül II and Can)

Thanks! It's good to know I spelt Grobschnitt correctly the first time, just from memory alone.

^^ Thanks! There's a few new bands for me to check out there. The only band I'd previously heard of out of those four bands are the Funk-Rock band, Mother's Finest, who were said to be too hard and heavy to play on black music radio stations, so I guess that has to be a good thing.
By the way, I'm really liking Grobschnitt, even though I'd never heard of them up until a couple of days ago. ProgArchives is a great place for broadening one's musical horizons.

Europeans feature a very well known Prog guy, otherwise it's more New Wave.
Wucan is great Retro Rock and a bit like Blues Pills with flute.

I still cant get links to these shows (im such a bl**dy luddite..) but theyre both on youtube
Man Live at Rockpalast 1975; The 4 piece version that had just released 'Slow Motion'; the most unbelievable double guitar work on 7171-551 (no wonder Frank Zappa thought Micky Jones and Deke Leonard were 2 of the best guitarists on this side of the water!)
Grateful Dead live at Rockpalast 1980 ; around the time of the 'Go to Heaven' lp.. fantastic versions of 'Shakedown Street' , 'Sugaree' & 'Althea'

Fantastic! (or should i say Mantastic!.. oh good grief..) Ive rabbited on about this performance here on many occasion so really pleased you put it up. I know theyre not everyones taste but Micky & Deke just had this telepathic way of jamming together (ive seen Man plenty of times live!) and the noises and effects they get out of those SG's is phenomenal! no wonder Frank Zappa said they were 2 of the best guitarists on this side of the water!
