A series that came to early.

What am I talking about! Well had Firefly debuted amid now, in "streaming heaven/hell" would the fate of 'Firefly' been different. A stunning show, which only delivered one (1) season. has Created the most anticipated follow-up since well... ever. Though movies like 'Serenity' have followed suit and concludes the series in a semi-closure, the legend of "Firefly" still floats high in the nostalgia, whatever it was. One might only fantasies about if it ever could garner even the slightest following today as "Stranger Things" gets.

Loved Firefly, but my faves are Babylon 5, Deep Space 9, and BSG remake.

I never got into the show, but then I probably never tried enough. It certainly had quite the dedicated fandom. At that time, the space show I was most into was LEXX (and Farscape when it was on -- I called it Fartscrape then). I was very involved at a couple of sci-fi forums when Firefly was going on, and remember the petition to get a new series made well. At least there was Serenity.

I signed petitions to continue a couple of my favourite modern genre shows that lasted two series/ seasons: Utopia (2013-2014), which had a total of 12 episodes, and In the Flesh (2013-2014) which had a total of nine episodes.

My favourite modern sci-fi show with a "Western" edge has been Westworld (loved the first season especially) and in classic TV, The Wild Wild West (was a pretty cool Western story in The Prisoner too - "Living in Harmony").

I feel like "Firefly" have a aestheic style that married "Mad Max", With classic sci-fi perhaps "Battlestar Galactica",with som classic Silverado western style. Yet stil had a thing for itselff, a vibe/aura that cought something in the early 00s
