I love Blues Traveler.

I'm currently listening to Travelers and Thieves and the track "I Have My Moments" and I can hear a lot of Rush in this particular track, especially La Villa Strangiato in the opening few bars and as a motif throughout the song.

No one I know has heard of them over here (UK) which is a bit of a shame because I think they really have a great sound.  I have yet though been able to sing along to the words in the middle part of "Business As Usual" from Straight On Til Morning and don't think I'll ever be able to

A good band! I have Travelers and Thiefs and I enjoy listening to it occasionally. Not very progressive ... some folk elements, and astonishing musicianship in some passages. And cool and sometimes unusual time signatures.

They definitely have some prog influenced songs and albums, but I don't think they should be included here ... for the time being.

This is the Non-Prog part of the website isn't it?  I wasn't suggesting they were Prog Rock, just that they are a band (away from Prog Rock) that I enjoy listening to and that although Non-Prog, they share some similarities is all.
