Hurrah for my favorite band!... well one of them - and a nice excuse to post one of my favorite soul-tunes (which some of you may hate, but listen to that arrangement!)

Not every day you get a rehearsal resulting in something like KC, the planets must have been properly aligned on that day Thumbs Up

On the evening of Monday January 13th, 1969, King Crimson formally began rehearsals in the basement of the Fulham Palace Road Cafe. After hauling their equipment down the stairs into their cramped rehearsal room Greg Lake, Ian McDonald, Michael Giles, Robert Fripp plugged in their instruments, and with Peter Sinfield operating lights and sound, played and worked on material for the next hour and a half.

The rest, as they say, is history. Great band.

Still going strong after 50 years… But when I first read the title of this thread my thoughts went somewhat off-topic:

Here's a cool way to celebrate...likely the earliest recorded video of the band (from the Rolling Stones 7/5/69 Hyde Park show).  Fripp is nowhere to be seen, guess the cameraman didn't realize the guy sitting on the stool was very important LOL

I don't think anyone expected the band's lineup to Fracture as much as it did right after their debut album, even if it turned out to be one the band's greatest strengths.
