It has been officially available on cd since 2002 through the DGM King Crimson Collectors Club.

The only footage of crimso 69, that's been on tv thus far, is one snippet of Robert Fripp standing between some palm tree's watching the stones, and a short clip of the band playing, but with no sound.

The clip of the band playing was seen on Channel 4's(uk) Progressive Rock Top Ten. You can watch it here on Sid Smith's KC book site. For some reason, they showed the clip the wrong way round, making everyone left handed!

The clip, with slight variation of what's been shown, and with an edited studio version of 21st Century Schizoid Man for it's sound, is available on the recent ELP DVD Beyond the Beginning.

The gig itself sounds wonderfully raw, exciting and a little bit shaky, but it's a great chance to hear KC very early on in it's original form.

The obviously home-made 8mm video without sound on the ELP DVD Beyond The Begginning is terrible and very dissapointing. It is not only butchered (about 2 minutes long), it also shows only Greg Lake and Ian McDonald between shots of the obviously stoned-out hippie audience. And worst of all the dubbed sound is from the original 21st Century Schizoid Man track. Why didn't ELP use the King Crimson Collectors Archive with the actual sound from the Hyde Park performance and show the entire song? Come on ELP, do it right! Your DVD sucks! And it only has a few complete songs and too many repeats. A VERY poor DVD, not worth buying unless you find it used! By the way does anyone know of ANY other videos out there of the original 1969 Crimson line-up? I don't think any exists, but I may be wrong. Or does anyone have the clip from  Top  of the Pops  1970  Crimson  performance with  Lake, Fripp, Mike Giles and Keith Tippett doing Cat Food? I'd really like to see that!

That footage was filmed by Greg's parents supposedly, and they didn't film a whole lot, some of the clips are from during 21st Century Schizoid Man, but someone else say's that a part of it(the footage showing fripps guitar and mcdonald close up - as seen on the prog top ten feature) is during Get Thy Bearings.

It is supposed to be the ownly known footage of the orginal band sadly.

However, what with all the media present that day, I find it very hard to believe that there isn't more footage and even photos(there are just a few that i've seen) of King Crimson at Hyde Park.

The BBC allegedly wiped the tape of the show that featured KC on top of the pops.

Hopefully film of the orginal band will surface one day though!!!

PS: Greg Lake talkss nonsense in album covers section on the DVD...

Barry Godber did not die the day after he painted the 'In the court' cover's, neither did he drop dead in the street. He died in bed - Febuary 1970.
