I'm not going to laugh at any other nationalities, but some names sound sometimes wicked. Imagine, e.g. such situation outside Sweden Who is favourite drummer? Oh, it is Huxflux Nettermalm from Paatos. Quite unusual name, isn't it. BTW, Paatos are great. The Polish names are also great, I ask Anglo Saxons to try to pronounce Józef Skrzek (Scksheck and it will not of course sound like genuine polish) or Czesław Wydrzycki (real name of late Czesław Niemen). So please send the prog musicians names that sound weird in your opinion. ------------- yet you still have time! |

Actually, I think the hardest to pronounce correctly (for people outside of Finland, anyway) is that of the late, great sax player Pekka Pöyry. not a name, but something that comes to my mind: the German word
"Streichholzschächtelchen" is supposed to be the most difficult to
pronounce for foreigners. I am no native speaker of German, and I
definitely agree; that word is a true tongue twister. but apparently

I think it's great that German should have a word for "little box of matches". What about "floccinaucinihilipilification" for a hard to pronounce English word? I can't even say it myself. It's much worse than "antidisestablishmentarianism" (at least I can spell that)(I hope). My favourite strange English name is "Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond ". Not hard to pronounce, but why have a double-barrelled name with both barrells the same? |

Not certain about the most difficult musician's name, but I do have an
album (progressive jazz-fusion) in my collection by a French band called NPTOLPQSIVRT. |

Yeah, I can imagine Pöyry must be a very difficult name to pronounce for a foreigner  . The band Höyry-Kone is probably rather difficult too.-------------

It's not hard to pronounce, but a lot of people (mostly
English-speakers) say many of the Flower Kings' names wrong...
Roine Stolt, Tomas Bodin, Jonas Reingold, Zoltan Csorsz (ex-TFK), Hasse
Froberg and Brunuissen... all of those names have at least one
oft-mispronounced word.
