I'm now working on my tapping method on bas guitar. Can you name some bands or some songs where tapping is use especially by bass. I know Van halen have some, but can you think of some more ? I love tapping !! |

While he may not tap (on bass at least), Tony Levin plays an awesome
Stick, and also approximates the sound on bass with his "funk fingers"

Good choices - nice examples of Hamm's tapping on Radio Free Albumuth - including a take on Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
I bought a bass tap tutor book (with CD) for my daughter for Christmas, but have to go home and remind myself of details - so will add details later - author: Stuart Clark???. |

Took the words right outta my mouth. Jerry... contains some mind-blowing tapping. Check out a live vid of them doing that song for the full effect. I have one from MTV's Helloween Party 1991, and it's jaw-dropping. |

it just came to my mind that all the famous stick (and Warr guitar) players are practically bound to play tapping, so you can also check out Tony Levin's work with KC in the 80's (Elephant Talk is a great example of stick playing) or Trey Gunn. ------------- "my kingdom for a horse!"
