Live at Ricks is great, although it focuses very heavily on Twilight Cinema (featuring every track from that but one) and not enough on their first two imo - which is not a problem as it was recorded on their tour supporting that album, just as their only live document so far my expectations are out of sync with its reality :)

But the band is one of my all time favs and I've listened to them far more than I should for how little music they've put out so far.

I did pick up their new one but haven't had time to play it yet, it sounded like something I'd like more than their early ones. I need to check out some samples.

I haven't heard their music yet, I read that they remind folks of Unexpect and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.   Is there any truth to the comparison?

In that they are unexpected and generally dark in sound? Yes, but they aren't nearly as heavy, although they have that kind of cabaret-y sound in common. Check out these tracks, you'll know if they are similar in ways you will appreciate pretty quick:

I've listened to "heart of hickory" on youtube. Very catchy tune and great video. I wonder if that's an official band video.
