Hey i was being a smart ass of course. I was an ecological sciences major in college and have thought about this stuff all my life. In short, we really have to preserve the natural systems since our very lives are depedent upon them. Most oxygen we breathe comes from the oceans actually but the acidification of the systems is causing massive die offs which are the canaries in the coal mine. I think you're getting into philosphical existential quandaries with these questions. Why is nature a precarious balance of positive and negative energies? Why can't we all simply photosynthesize instead of have to kill to live. Those are answers none of us have i'm afraid, however being physical beings that are part of a greater biological system, we are bound to its rules and regulations and although we undoubtedly have the freewill to break those universal laws, ultimately it will lead to our demise as evidenced by ancient cultures that went similar routes. ------------- https://rateyourmusic.com/~siLLy_puPPy |

^ There's a surprising amount inside too.. my pet tapeworm is cheap to feed and helps keep my weight down and the Yeast infections.. well.. Apparently the long suggested 10:1 ratio of micro organism cells to Human cells is highly inaccurate, the real figure being around 1.3:1 but that's roughly equal measures so at least half of the cells in and on your body are made up of things that are not you!
