Do you know Lucio Battisti? What do you think about his original melodic kind of music? I think there's a lot of prog in his works, and Mogol (the lyrics writer) is a real poet! |

certo che lo conosco!!! I think he was great, I've always considered him as some kind of "Italian Beatle" in a way...he was great at experimenting yet staying very accessible (I'm always shocked when I hear the moog riff in "Una donna per amico", for example....whoever else did something like that in ITALIAN POP?!?!). I think he is the italian singer with the most hits ever (in Italy)...I couldn't just count ALL of the songs I know of him which are actually famous, they're too many... anyway I wouldn't be sure he is PROG, I rather see him as an experimenting and daring POP singer. ------------- "my kingdom for a horse!" His proggiest songs were those he wrote for the group Formula 3. To
show how important he was to the band, just check out the album they
made without his guidance (the rather lame La Grande Casa).
Their best and proggiest album, Sognando e risognando, is all

battisti had some great moments, but from a 'prog' standpoint, always left a bit to be desired, imho. |
