They're both good but Lateralus is a masterpiece.

I never cared much for Lateralus. Aenema had so many strong tunes while Lateralus just seemed like they entered the studio saying....Okay lets make sure this sounds like a Tool lp.To me the lp sounds flat and uninspired.

Aenima is the only Tool album I can listen to without getting a headache.

For me "Lateralus"! Dark and hardly accesible, but that's what I love about it. It's definitely not for everyone, too. Awesome production!

I think that this poll makes no real sense, some say Aenima, some say Lateralus, some say "Tool:" and so on. But hey, good poll question though.

Lateralus, Aenima has the best tool song on it (title track of course). Overall however Lateralus is the better album.

I used to own Aenima (Holo cover an all!) but did not like it enough to keep it - so gave it away!!

I think Lateralus is definitely the best out of the two - it is more complete compositionally - lyrics are great and the music draws the listener in through to the last note. Aenima has some great moments though!

Lateralus as album, but "Forty Six And 2" is a masterpiece by itself...

Both are low four star efforts, in my opinion. But Ænima is better. Stinkfist and Third eye are both better than anything on Lateralus.
