I like the Tangerines....
I love both of these albums, but Rubycon. TD used to be all about the pre-Phaedra albums for me, but I've grown to love a lot more Tangerine Dream.

Rubycon is one my least favourite TD album.
The Snow Goose is my favourite Camel album.

I don't like Rubycon much, but I'm not a Tangerine Dreamfan.
The Snow Goose is, in my opinion, the greatest album ever recorded - bar none. It epitomises, beauty, melody and emotion.

Rubycon here. I find the original release of The Snow Goose to be quite stale, though I do like the re-recorded version from a few years ago quite a bit.

And how about the version included on "A Live Record"? I don't actually have the original studio album, but have that live album with the whole Snowgoose and with orchestra. I find it very enjoyable, actually, and don't think I need to get the studio one (nor the new re-recording, for that matter).

I have never heard Rubycon so I won't vote but I assume you are referring to the Tangerine Dream album. If it was Phaedra well I'd still probably vote for snow goose even though I really like Phaedra.

The Snow Goose. Not to say that Rubycon is not good; it is actually a really good album, but The Snow Goose is quite excellent.

My view exactly.

Rubycon is a landmark album (then again, most of TD's '70s albums are!).
The Snow Goose is a bit overrated, IMHO. I like Rain Dances, Breathless, Stationary Traveller, Moonmadness and even the first album more than TSG.

Rubycon.
However if it were Snow Goose on the '78 live album; different story.

I drool (metaphorically ) everytime I listen to SG, nothing I can do about that ... (it was one of the formative albums of my musical taste, way back when I was a very young boy, sorry micky )

Exactly! That's precisely what I used to do back then - went to bed and left the tape running (an old Grundig mono reel-to-reel)
