Oh, carbs for sure, especially when you try to lower them: bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, baked treats, all so yummy and filling, and a godsend if you're on a tight budget. But in practical terms, protein is more important and restorative.
My vote goes to the all-too-tempting carb, but hats off to the most important building block: protein !

That was my quandary. On one hand, carbs are the most delicious and satisfying energy source around, but from a molecular point of view proteins are simply the coolest things on the planet. Ended up picking proteins in the end, though.

No vote. I have a rather ambivalent relationship with carbs (a.k.a. diabetes).

Protein. When you don't have much muscle you consume as much of this as you can!

Fat without question as it makes the other two palatable.
Everyone in our household except me is on a low-fat diet and it was great for about three days and then became a chore that sucked all the pleasure out of mealtimes.
I can just about cope with Protien without Fat but even that needs lubrication to make it enjoyable. Prime fillet steak is great an'all but give me a good piece of well marbled rib-eye any day of the week. Even something as simple as an egg is more enjoyable if you eat the yolk (41% fat) and not just the white (0% fat). Carbs on their own is like eating cardboard. Bread without butter, fat-free cakes, potatoes without butter, oil or cream... bleugh... and pasta without a sauce is completely inedible and that sauce screams out for olive oil or full cream to make it zing into life.

| Same here. However, I supplement my cravings by listening to
music and it works. Until the next urge hits, that is, and then it's back to my listening room.
