i am going to buy a lot of cd's in more few days and in need your recommendations and your directing.

ok. so first i want to buy porcupine tree CD, and i dond know wich one, i dont like their heavy-heavy songs,  dont like some songs from: "In Absentia".     but i do love their less heavy songs. like: "Waiting Phase One" and "She's Moved On", and a more.    so if u guys can help me with this, it will be great.

now, the second CD i want to buy is an "Amon Duul II"- i have an indecision between "Yeti" and "Wolf City"...

the third CD that i have indecision about, is an "ozric TenTacles" CD- i think that the "Jurassic Shift" will be wonderfull cd, but maybe there other good CD's of this band, so please help. thanks!

The first two I am hugely indifferent towards but I can help you with Ozrics:

Erpland

That album was their first real classic, and being orignally a double LP you simply get more Tentacles for your money than on shorter albums! A perfect introduction.

get 1 of the earlier, more psychedelic PT albums - check their PA page for reviews, and see which takes your fancy.

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream

Amon Düül 2 - Wolf City (personally, I prefer Yeti, but it's maybe a bit hard to digest.)

Ozric Tentacles - Erpland is certainly one of their best.

I would go with Yeti but I do agreee that it might be a little hard to digest. Give it a bit of a listen before you buy it. Iwoul try getting into some early 70`s stuff like Moving Waves and Hamburger Concerto by Focus. The live Yessongs is a great introduction to Yes. You might want to check out 200 Years After The Last War by Hungarian band Omega from 1973. Try out some King Crimson from the 1969-1973 era as well.

Don't buy...get  broadband and seek out the many sites that you can download for nothing. Take what you can, then if you like go buy , if not.....well delete (or burn).

If you prefer lighter Porcupine Tree, I would suggest either The Sky Moves Sideways or Signify.

Oh, there are lots of us...we just haven't got around to responding yet.

Stupid Dream is the most melodic PT CD. Wilson's new Blackfield
collaboration with Aviv Geffen sounds like what you're after. Very melodic
indeed.

I prefer Yeti to Wolf City, by a mile. More interesting.

Don't know much about Ozrics.

It's funny how everyone has recommended different PT albums for you...I would suggest you start with Lightbulb Sun (if you can get it...its now OOP, though you can pick it up on ebay easily enough still).

Personally, I find it the most accessible by some way.  I found Signify and earlier records difficult to digest initially, but they are slowy growing on me....
