I've been reading a few others but these are the ones I've been returning to the most.

The Catcher in the Rye is a personal favorite of mine.

I never understood all that fuss about "Catcher in the Rye"; I deeply disliked the book. I have absolutely no sympathy for Holden Caulfield, and it is absolutely beyond me why so many people could somehow identify with him. he is an absolute wimp. one of the most disappointing reads I ever had; I don't get what all the praise is for.

I liked "Absalom, Absalom" a lot, but my vote goes to "Wuthering Heights".

I highly recommend Anne Brontė's "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall". the book was more than a hundred years ahead of its time. Anne is very unjustly the overlooked Brontė sister
