I really can't say. Depends on the kind of music again. For fusion a fretless or on occcasion an acoustic is best. I like the fretless play of Percy Jones. You should rephrase answer "d", by the way; it is biased. And I actually like it when drummers do a lot with cymbals. A single unexpected hit or two on a cymbal can be much more effective than a showy drum-roll (A good example of that you can find in the title track of Gong's "Shamal"). Much more important for me is effective use of hi-hat though. 7 the most important thing regarding compositions: a complexity b harmony c synchronization d restless changes e technical performance f structure g melody h rhythm Not quite sure what you mean by synchronization. Anyway, all of the aspects are important for me.
