the questions:

1. the keyboards must be at first:

a very symphonic-bombastic oriented, emulating classical music

b linear & minimalist

c atmospheric & ambient

d floating, ethereal & dreamy

e clinical & nervous

f futuristic

g spacy & cosmic

h i prefer music with no keyboards

All but "a". If I want to listen to classical I prefer the real thing. But even "a" may be fine at times.

2  regarding the vocals department, you prefer:

a  women lead &/or backing vocals

b men lead &/or backing vocals

c substantial lyrics: the quality of voices is less important

d conversations, effects on voices

e instrumental albums

Again all. What I really hate though (in general; if there are exceptions they don't come to my mind right now. The only way I could accept that was as a parody) is a small choir of 2 or 3 women doing background vocals (as is the case on some Floyd live albums, for example). An example of good usage for a small choir of female vocals (but lead and not backing) is on the first self-titled album of Hatfield and the North.

3 you usually look for what kind of mood in music?

a sentimental

b fearful

c funny

d dark

e depressing

f melancholic

g relaxing

h peaceful

i joyful

j intellectual

Again all, with a stress on j.

4 regarding the electric guitar, the most important thing is:

a the melody of the solos

b the quality of the sound

c the presence of miscellaneous pedals used

d the rhythmic riffs

e i prefer acoustic guitars

f any music where guitar is absent

Depends on the music; no preference.

5 i prefer:

a acoustic bass

b rickenbaker bass

c fender precision bass

d wal bass

e fretless bass

f bass type is not important

g any music where bass is replaced

The distinctions are a little fuzzy here and overlapping too. I really can't say. Depends on the kind of music again. For fusion a fretless or on occcasion an acoustic is best. I like the fretless play of Percy Jones. (He should be listed in bass polls more).

6 regarding the drums:

a they are less important than the percussions

b they are better if they have a jazzy style

c i look for fast metal drummers

d i have only good words for drummers who give the listener an overdaose of cymbals patterns

e synchronization is much more important than speed & technical exhibition

f i hate drums solos

A combination of "b" and "e". You should rephrase answer "d", by the way; it is biased. And I actually like it when drummers do a lot with cymbals. A single unexpected hit or two on a cymbal can be much more effective than a showy drum-roll (A good example of that you can find in the title track of Gong's "Shamal"). Much more important for me is effective use of hi-hat though.

7 the most important thing regarding compositions:

a complexity

b harmony

c synchronization

d restless changes

e technical performance

f structure

g melody

h rhythm

Not quite sure what you mean by synchronization. Anyway, all of the aspects are important for me. And answer "d" seems a little biased again.

8 considering instruments other than drums, electronic keys, bass & guitars, your favorite one is:

a violin/cello

b xylophone/marimba/vibraphone/glockenspiel

c bassoon

d bagpipes

e trumpet/trombone

f flute

g accordion

h oboe

i  harpsichord

j church organ

k piano

l tubular bells

m saxophone

n if other, specify:

I don't need bagpipes unless they really make sense, like on Mother Gong's "Fairy Tales". Else I think the more unusual the instrumentation is the merrier.

9 the first word you associate with "keyboards " is:

a Hammond organ

b mini moog

c clavinet

d mellotron

e any vintage keyboards

f any modern keyboards

g a mix of modern & vintaghe keyboards

I'll go with "g" here.

10 you have absolutely NO TIME for:

a symphonic prog

b canterbury

c art rock

d fusion

e RIO/avant garde

f post rock/experimental

g krautrock

h prog metal

i zeuhl

j italian prog

k neo prog

l psychedelic / space rock

m prog folk

Most of "h" and "k" and some of "a", but there are exceptions. (I never understood why VdGG are only listed under "symphonic", by the way; they are often much too dissonant for that category. I hate "symphonic prog" that is nothing but wafts of billowing keyboards. Eloy come to my mind as an example for that).

Okidoki- My boyfriend has mentioned Marillion time and time again but it's one of those facts he rants about that I push aside to focus on the OTHER things he says. But if you reckon I love them......maybe I should start paying more attention to him on that one. I've never heard any of their stuff you see.
