The Creation of Yet Further
This is it. It's been a long journey, but we've made it to the end. This album is the result of a 5 year writing process. It began in 2010 immediately after the release of our first album, and ended in the autumn of 2015. Following rehearsal after rehearsal, we managed to capture over 71 minutes of music throughout the summer of 2015. Last fall we got together with engineer http://www.normaphone.com/gregnormancredits" rel="nofollow - Greg Norman ( http://russiancirclesband.com" rel="nofollow - Russian Circles , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMgDyd2E6_8" rel="nofollow - Godspeed You! Black Emperor , http://pelicansong.bandpage.com" rel="nofollow - Pelican ) from http://www.electricalaudio.com" rel="nofollow - Electrical Audio in Chicago for final production and mixing. The album was mastered in November by Collin Jordan, and since then, we've been finalizing all of the artwork and design.
All of that brings us to now, almost 6 years after we've set out to create another album. Yet Further is the culmination of all the emotion, tribulation, and hope we've experienced in the last 6 years.
About Sioum Sioum is an instrumental trio based out of Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 2008, the band consists of brothers Dorian Zdrinc (guitar), Arthur Zdrinc (drums), and Kevin Clark (keys). They often draw inspiration from dreams, film, video games, and most frequently, emotion itself. Post-metal, as well as progressive influence are often noted, although occasionally, many broad (and unusual) influences, such as contemporary classical and chiptune, can be heard.
"The best albums are the ones that you can keep coming back to, because the more you dig into them, the more treasure you find. Apparently Sioum got the message." - http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/43630/Sioum-I-Am-Mortal-But-Was-Fiend" rel="nofollow - Sputnik Music
"Not many bands whose music is so full of different moods can suck you into their compositions as much as Sioum can...the music is too good to be ignored and you have to listen to it with every inch of your body." - http://www.therocktologist.com/sioum-i-am-mortal-but-was-fiend.html" rel="nofollow - Rok Podgrajšek, The Rocktologist
