I'd have to go with Presence, Achilles Last Stand is their best epic in my opinion, and Nobody's Fault But Mine kicks ass.

For me, it's a tie between "Zoso", and Houses of the Holy (their most progressive.  I have found very few albums that have a stronger three tracks to start out:  Song Remains the Same, Rain Song, Over the Hills and Far Away).

of the originals: a tie between III and IV. but since you includes BBC sessions, with the best "stairway to heaven" i've heard, that gets my vote.

I'm not anymore very fond of the Zeps, but I used to listen it lots as a teenager. Their remeber live, "The Song Remains The Same", being my favourite. That song made a nice coupling with "Rain Song", where John Paul Jones mostly played mellotron instead of bass.

IV is the absolutely best LZ album ever! Even though Houses of Holy is pretty good too. Don't blame me if you like it better cause I downloaded them all!

Physical Graffiti is a monster of an album and even a couple of so-so songs near the end of disc 2 are not able to prevent this one from being the pinnacle of the band musically speaking -all IMO of course.

I think III deserves some votes as well, probably my second fav, in close competition with IV.

I'm not that fond of some of the things on 'Houses' and certainly not of Rain Song, which seems to be a well-loved song among fans. It just doesn't engage me emotionally at all. Too understated somehow and the song sounds like it's only half-finished.

Presence.  Can't beat Achilles Last Stand, For Your Life, or Tea For One.  I absolutely hate in through the out door.

Wow! That's cool, haven't met a Led Zep fan whose favourite was Presence before ... and there are two here ... it's my least favourite actually, only really like Nobody's Fault But Mine and Tea For One ...

Wow, I can't believe nobody's voted for II - Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, Thank You, Moby Dick, Ramble On. It was one of the first rock albums I ever heard so it has a special place in my heart. Graffit is awesome as well. Mind you, they're all pretty awesome, it's a hard job to choose between anything up to Prescence.

They're all great albums, which makes the choice difficult. Anyway, for me IV wins hands down. A truly legendary album!
