The band started in 2012, when 3 friends met to play music without all those pesky rules and limitations. Everybody in the band had a background of playing metal, but wanted to more experimental stuff, it resulted in a type of hard progressive rock which blends light and darkness.
I would not know where to place our music in the prog universe, maybe some won't even call it prog at all? So we would love to get your feedback on our music and where we might fit in
Our debut album is out on Spotify, Tidal, Wimp, Apple Music and on our Soundcloud page; https://soundcloud.com/bez-taktu
If you want to support us, the album is also available on the iTunes Store.
Enjoy!

Hi and welcome.
I'm just wondering... Why did a Norwegian band choose a Polish name?

Thank you! :)
Good question! Well, our guitarist has a girlfriend from Belarus, and in the beginning, while searching for a bandname, they came up with that name :) They though it would be a fitting name for our band, I was told it means "without tone" or "without rythm", is that correct?

^ Yes, it's more or less correct. Precisely, "takt" in Polish means "bar" as in musical notation for a repeating pattern of musical beats so, yes, "Bez Taktu" may be translated as "without rythm". But it has also the second, non-musical meaning - "takt" can also mean "tact" so the name of your band can also be translated as "tactless". I suppose it's similar in other Slavic languages (like Belarusian).
