Ænima. 'Cause it's fun to listen to. Can't get into Opeth's brand of metal.

Neither. I prefer much more Lateralus by Tool and Blackwater Park by Opeth.

Tool. I don't like Opeth's death growl period.

Still Life, Aenima has some good stuff but Lateralus is where their ideas really came together.
------------- Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005

I only really prefer Schism, Lateralus, and Parabola from their 2001 release. OTOH, Ænima consists of the best tech metal ever heard.

Opeth. I'm not a big fan of them, but I sure as hell like them more than tool.
Unrelated note: does anyone feel the similarities between the Benighted and Camel's Never Let Go?

^ Maybe "experimental metal" would cut it better.

There must be a story behind that, the same way the opening to "The Rain Song" is reminiscent of "Something" (by The Beatles), which also has a story behind that.

I guess I screwed that up by using the term technical, which I just figured out is synonymous with death metal. I meant it just as regular metal with technical features, like time changes and complex rhythms. Apparently, I was misinformed.

No idea why I can't delete this post but I'll just edit it. So to add a contribution, here's a picture of a really cute snake:

That could be the case, I mean, they are big fans of 70s prog rock, apparently.
