agreed on the Beardfish album.. probably is that particular Mastodon album isn't much better. An earlier one of theirs would have been a slam dunk vote.

will likely do repeat listens and go with which ever keeps me away the longest...

Mastodon gets it, especially after seeing them play several of the tracks from this album a few months back...brilliant show!

Something tells me I should like Beardfish and it made it onto my "maybe this should make it onto the to buy list" but then I find something else that is simply more interesting. Still prefer it to Mastedon's effort.

Damn, Mastodon is losing badly.  Granted I don't like Crack the Skye as much as Hunter but it's still one hell of a kickass metal album.

Mastodon for me. Beardfish are ok I guess, but I've never managed to sit through a whole album of theirs without getting distracted by the wallpaper or a dove from above.

Not a huge fan of either album, but I'll give the slight edge to Mastodon since I still love the hell out of their 'Blood Mountain' release.

Hell yeah, 'Blood Mountain' will always be one of my favorite albums!

Mastodon for me.

Beardfish did things much better before and after that album. Not sure why it is constantly praised.

Can't get much out of Mastodon.

Though I am not a big Beardfish fan (unlike a lot of the people I know here in the US), Sleeping in Traffic Pt 2 is a very good album - while I don't think Crack the Skye is on the same level as Leviathan or Blood Mountain. Therefore,  my vote goes to the Swedes.

This has been my toughest choice...the best of both bands....Beardfish by a whisker.
